Mt 1:23-24; Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel which means God is with us. When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home.

In Matthew 1: 23-24, Christ is prophesied to be the Son of God by the Archangel Gabriel. In Hebrew, Emmanuel means “God with us.” The name Emmanuel is a proclamation of the coming Messiah who would save His people from their sins.

The verse also reveals that Jesus will come as a child and live a sinless life before dying on a cross for our sins and conquering death.

When the angel Gabriel first appeared to Mary, he addressed her as "Hail, favored one!" (Lk 1:28). He then announced that she was going to be the mother of Jesus, the son of God. The angel's name for Jesus is "Emmanuel" which means "God is with us."

This passage reveals that the Son of God has come to live among us and make his dwelling among us.
