Luke 9:1-6And he called the Twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal. And he said to them, " Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics. And whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them." And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere. This passage is about Jesus giving authority to the Twelve Apostles. In this passage, Jesus is addressing the apostles and he commission them to preach in his name. We can see that Jesus give them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases. This commissioning of the Twelve apostles is a tradition found in three out of four gospels - Matthew, Mark, and Luke. And in each case, Jesus prohi
Rom 8:11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit who dwells in you.  Hope is not lost on this world. Hope is found in the Spirit of the living God. It was the Spirit of Christ that raised Jesus from death to life-giving life, and it is the same Spirit that dwells in you, who will raise you up to new life. The verses says that if the Spirit of God dwells in us, then we have hope because he will raise us up to new life after death. Jesus loves me . Say it out loud. Say it again Jesus loves me .  Mark 1:23-24 And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, "What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God."  These verses describe the first recorded incident that Jesus encountered when he entered a place for a religious service. Instantly a 'demoniac' or 'unclean spirit' manifested itself and cried out. The man would have been demonized by the devil and was definitely not in his right mind. He would have been driven mad with hatred against God and this is why he became so hostile towards Jesus. There was also mention of him recognizing Jesus as the son of God which means that his sanity was intact. Jesus loves me . Say it out loud. Say it again Jesus loves me . You are never alone.  Mark 1:34 And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him. Jesus healed all kinds of diseases and cast out many demons. Jesus's healing power is not in the miracles themselves. It is in who he is - the Son of God, the Son of Man, and the Son of Mary. And it is in his mission - to proclaim God's Kingdom, heal broken souls, and bring peace to a world gone mad. The Catholic Church teaches that Jesus does not just heal us from sins but also heals our bodies, minds, and souls. Jesus has given this healing power to his Church through the sacraments. The sacraments are channels through which God gives life-giving grace to people so that they may be healed spiritually and physically. Jesus heals the sick and casts out the demon. He is the ultimate healer. Jesus loves me . Say it out loud. Say it again Jesus loves me . You are never alone. God Bless Brother Philip Philip@clevelandbene
Jn 3:19-21"This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been wrought in God." This verse perfectly describes our human nature. We prefer to stay in the dark and avoid the light. The Bible explains this, saying "For there is nothing hidden that will not be made manifest." The darkness tries to conceal all of its truths from us so that we may never know what they are. What it doesn't realize is that when we choose to live in light, we can uncover all of these truths and learn more about who God is with every step. Jesus loves me . Say it out loud. Say it again Jesus loves me . You are never alone. God Bless Brother Philip Philip@clevelandbenedictines.org
