Lk 4:5-6 And the devil took him up, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, and said to him, "To you I will give all this authority and their glory; for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. the moment when Jesus was tempted by Satan. This story starts with an introduction to Jesus stating that he was led up to a high place, where the devil took him. The devil showed him all of the kingdoms of this world in an instant, and promised him any one of them if he would bow down and worship him. But Jesus refused and rebuked him, saying “You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve” This passage has great significance because it relates that Jesus was not just a man but also God. Mt 13:19,22; The seed sown on the path is the one who hears the word of the kingdom without understanding it, and the evil one comes and steals away what was sown in his heart.  The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but then worldly anxiety and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit. The seed that falls on fallow ground is Jesus Christ's analogy for those people who hear His word but do not understand it because they are distracted by worldly cares (thorns) or greed (weeds). Weeds are plants that grow in cultivated ground but are not desired for their beauty or use; they choke out other plants around them that would otherwise grow lushly. Jesus warns His listeners about the dangers of neglecting their religious duty. In society today people are constantly bombarded with messages from every direction on what they should believe and how they should live their life. So many people today neglect their duty to God due to the overwhelming influence th
Mt 12:25-29; But he knew what they were thinking and said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and no town or house divided against itself will stand. And if Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself; how, then, will his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your own People drive them out? Therefore they will be you judges. But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, the the kingdom of God has come upon you. Jesus’s statement in Mt 12:25-29 has to do with how he understands the Kingdom of Heaven. He says that a kingdom divided against itself shall be laid waste, and even the children would not be safe. Jesus is saying that if there are two kings fighting for power, then they are both weak. This passage teaches us that Jesus knows what people are thinking before they even say it. This is because he sees them as they really are deep within their soul, and he knows what lies within them. Jesus loves me . Sa
Mt 12:31; Therefore, I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. This verse, from Mt 12:31, is the most famous of the seven sayings in Matthew's gospel that refer to Jesus' power over sin and evil. The sayings are grouped together because they all relate to the same event: the exorcism of a boy possessed by an unclean spirit. The words "every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people" were spoken just before the climax of the story: Jesus casting out this powerful demon from a young man. In contrast, these words from verse 31 are spoken after it - when people ask what they can do to avoid such a fate for themselves. Sins against God's Spirit are considered more serious than sins against ordinary people or even sins against oneself. Blasphemy against the spirit is the only sin that will not be forgiven. It is a serious insult to God's power and authority. We may think that we can get away
Mt 1:23-24; Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel which means God is with us. When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home. In Matthew 1: 23-24, Christ is prophesied to be the Son of God by the Archangel Gabriel. In Hebrew, Emmanuel means “God with us.” The name Emmanuel is a proclamation of the coming Messiah who would save His people from their sins. The verse also reveals that Jesus will come as a child and live a sinless life before dying on a cross for our sins and conquering death. When the angel Gabriel first appeared to Mary, he addressed her as "Hail, favored one!" (Lk 1:28). He then announced that she was going to be the mother of Jesus, the son of God. The angel's name for Jesus is "Emmanuel" which means "God is with us." This passage reveals that the Son of God has come to live among us and make his dwelling among us. Jesus loves me . S
2 Peter 2:4; For if God did not spare the angel when they sinned, but condemned them to the chains of Tartarus and handed them over to be kept for judgement. These passages often take people aback because they contradict the idea of a loving and merciful God. However, we need to remember that God is not only merciful but also just. This means that He expects people to live up to certain standards and if they don't then there must be consequences. Peter is writing to Christians who have been persecuted and so he warns them about the future persecution that they will face. He talks about how God has given them a lot of blessings and how it would be wrong for the Christians to forget the power that was used to save them from all their sins. Jesus loves me . Mt 13:45-46; Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. When he finds a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it. The story is usually taken as an allegory for the way God's kingdom works. The idea is that "the kingdom of heaven is like" such and such because it has these qualities or features. So in this case, the kingdom of heaven is like (or "is said to be") a merchant searching for fine pearls because they're both looking for valuable items to sell at a profit. This passage is a metaphor for life. We are all on a journey, seeking to find our way in this world. Like the merchant, we are looking for something more valuable than anything else that has been found before. Jesus says that this "pearl" is something that he has to search for. He has to search for it because it's not plainly visible. It takes work and patience to find this pearl-like kingdom of heaven, but when he finds it,
