Luke 9:1-6And he called the Twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal. And he said to them, " Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics. And whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them." And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

This passage is about Jesus giving authority to the Twelve Apostles. In this passage, Jesus is addressing the apostles and he commission them to preach in his name. We can see that Jesus give them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases.

This commissioning of the Twelve apostles is a tradition found in three out of four gospels - Matthew, Mark, and Luke. And in each case, Jesus prohibits anyone from speaking with a demon or curing a disease without their permission. But in this passage we can see that after Jesus gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases.

Jesus is sending his apostles out into the world to preach for him. He gives them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases. Jesus sends them out as a team, confident they will accomplish what he asks of them.

Christ tells his disciples that they must not be afraid. They are given the power and authority over all demons, and also to cure diseases. The Lord is telling them that they can do anything because he will be with them.

Jesus loves me. Say it out loud.

Say it again Jesus loves me.
