Isaiah chapter 1 verses 16 through 17

"16 Wash and make yourselves clean.

    Take your evil deeds out of my sight;

    stop doing wrong.

17 Learn to do right; seek justice.

    Defend the oppressed.

    Take up the cause of the fatherless;

    plead the case of the widow."

Isaiah chapter 1 verses 16 through 17 calls for people to turn away from their evil deeds and seek righteousness. The verses are urging people to repent and cleanse themselves so that they may become pure in the eyes of God. The verses also ask people to do what is right and just, and to defend the weak and vulnerable. It emphasizes the importance of taking care of those who are less fortunate and oppressed by society. Essentially, these verses are a call to action to live a morally upright life and to help those in need.

Isaiah chapter 1 verses 16 through 17 still hold relevance in contemporary times as they call for people to turn away from their wickedness and wrongdoings and instead embrace righteousness and justice. In today's terms, this can be interpreted as a call for people to practice empathy, compassion, and respect for others. People are not only urged to stop doing wrong but also to work for the betterment of society, to stand up for the oppressed, and to advocate for the powerless. These verses remind people today that they have a moral obligation to seek justice and defend the rights of those who are marginalised and disadvantaged.

Jesus loves me. Say it out loud.

Say it again Jesus loves me.
