Mark 2:7-9

“Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things?
Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’?

This is not the first time that Jesus hears these complaints. He has always been confronted with accusations of blasphemy. It’s not just the people who are criticizing him for this, but also his own disciples. John, one of these disciples, is even more outspoken than the others.

The critics believe that Jesus is acting as if he himself were God, denying himself to be one of many gods and claiming to be the only God. They also believe he has no power to forgive sins because forgiveness can only come from God himself.

Jesus understands what they are accusing him of and what they are implying about his identity as a son of man and son of God, but he refuses to take their bait and turn it into an opportunity for debate or argumentation on his own behalf or theirs.Always remember

Jesus loves me. Say it out loud.

Say it again Jesus loves me.

You are never alone. God Bless Brother Philip
